Southtown Lofts
A medium sized infill project is currently making its way through the Brownfield process. "Southtown Lofts" will replace an existing two-story building in an old business district with a new four-story Affordable housing development.
The existing 7,290sq/ft building is being replaces with a 16,200sq/ft building containing 260sq/ft of retail space, 5,600sq/ft of commercials space, and twelve (12) one-bedroom apartments. Two of the twelve units will be rented to households at 60% AMI or below and the remaining ten are expected to be rented to households at 70% AMI or below.
If the project proceeds construction is expected to being in the fall of this year (2024) and be completed in the fall of 2025. The project has an estimated cost of ~$4,100,000 and was approved for ~1,600,000 in state support in the fall of 2023. The developer is Larlen Communications Inc.
