New Rapid Schedule (2024-08)

It is the end of August, and that means a new Rapid schedule. You can download the new schedule book πŸ‘‰hereπŸ‘ˆ. All the apps should adjust automatically, but be sure to double check your connections. There are no frequency changes this time, however some of the stop timings have shifted a few minutes forward or back.

As there are no frequency changes I've highlighted the only three remaining weekday frequent services, down from the five we had in 2025. 😒 And yet ridership continues to recover; as a testament to latent demand. I am reminded of a conversation I once had with an MDOT official about the level of transit service in the state. I mentioned that even the services that are available are not all that reliable [the Amtrak Wolverine most notably]. The MDOT official's response was that the quality and frequency of service did not matter, users of such services are so dependent on them that they will use them regardless. That does appear to the be official position of Lansing toward public transportation services.

Note: I do not include the Laker Line as a frequent service as the tight coupling to the university's schedule renders is unreliable as a service for the general public. It is a good service, until it - for all the non-student riders - randomly flips to a "break" or holiday schedule.
